Individual - All men

Despite incurring a hernia in the summer and being reduced to the roll of spectator with walking stick, Clayton Barrett still managed to get in enough good races early in the year to successfully defend his title.  Gareth Robb could have been in contention had he managed to complete a sixth race.

KENT ROAD RACE REPORT – JANUARY 2007

Dartford 10 miles – 21st January  (Grand Prix Race)

The road race season kicked off on a cool, breezy morning on with the return of the Dartford 10 mile race.  After an absence of two years while their sports ground was being redeveloped, the runners had the benefit of meeting in the luxury of the new Princes Park Stadium (home of Dartford FC).  Otherwise the course was unchanged from previous years taking in Wilmington, Sutton at Hone, South Darenth and Green St Green.

Crispin Bloomfield crossed the Thames from Billericay to take the honours in a time of 52.47 over two minutes clear of local lad Andrew Pickett.   Veteran Tina Oldershaw had a similar margin of victory in the ladies’ race with Dulwich Runners taking the team prize.  There were 837 finishers.
